A pair of twins boys; separated at a young age grow up in different environments. One grows in Chennai and becomes an officer (Vasudevan) in a private investigative agency and the other grows in Dindukkal becomes a typical rustic young man (Vetrivel). The city bred Surya charms Swathi (Asin) through his professional ethics. Rustic Vel is engaged in the bloody tussle with Sakara Pandi (Kalabhavan Mani); who has deep rooted enmity against the family. When Vasu' mother sends him to a village to look for her lost son; Vasu encounters Vel and his foster family. The family refuses to send Vel to his original family. Vasu; understanding their unadulterated affection towards Vel; agrees to give up his claim. But he has one request. Vel should go to Chennai pretending as Vasu and live with his mother. Vasu in turn would act as Vel in the village. Vel accepts. Vasu continues Vel's struggle against powerful Sakara Pandi but with a different approach. Based in Chennai, plainclothes police officer Pugazh slays Raka, a male wanted by Interpol, during the Shri Ganesh Visarjan. This news alerts his associates, some of who become alert, while others relieved, and Pugazh is instructed to proceed with his next target. The latter then meets with Janavi and both eventually fall in love. She then lets him speak with her wealthy Munich-based father, J.D., who instructs them to come home. Once there, he displays his disapproval for Pugazh. Unable to get close to his target, his stay is prolonged, prompting his mother to also travel there. Ravi (Prasanna) lands with a job in Trust Bank, Chennai, after he helps its CEO Vishwanath (S P Balasubrahmanyam), whose valuable documents are robbed from him when he is playing golf at a recreation club in Coimbatore. Ravi aspires to start his own business, but Vishwanath urges him to work for a while in his bank, gather experience and muster finance before venturing to start independent business. Meanwhile Ravi, who is in-charge of security system in the bank, develops a fool-proof method and urges Vishwanath to declare that his bank operations are safest in the world. Ravi comes across a journalist Nandhini (Ramya). He falls for her instantly after coming to know that she is a divorcee. When they spend a night in a sea shore, Ravi is attacked by a gang headed by Nandhini's ex-husband. But when he reaches his house, all troubles start. Fareed (Sibiraj), an outlaw informs Ravi that Nandhini's ex-hubby is killed by him and threatens him with photographs of Ravi bashing him at the beach. Fareed manages to make Ravi agree for a plan in order to save him from being arrested by the police for committing a murder. He hatches a conspiracy to rob the Trust bank and seeks Ravi's help. When he resists, he kidnaps Nandhini and threatens to end her life. Ravi eventually agrees to his plans.. With no other option, he sits down to draw a blue print and head the mission to rob the bank. Kamal (Jayam Ravi), a young billionaire, doesn`t believe in love. He works hard for 11 months and takes a month`s break from all the work related commitments. Celloist Kayalvizhi (Kayal for short or Lolita for Kamal) (Hansika Motwani) believes in true love and is highly fascinated with Indian culture. Then she sees Kamal one day and it is love at first sight for her, but before she can follow him he gets into his car and goes away. Her father Rajasekhar (Suman) runs a small detective agency in France and Kayal often reads her father`s case files for interesting stories. One day, Rajasekhar gets a new client (Sonu Gates) who wants to know about his girlfriend`s mystery man. After a brief investigation, Rajasekhar finds that his client`s girl friend is dating Kamal. Sonu gets angry and decides to kill Kamal. Kayal overhears the conversation and deciding to save them, rushes to their hotel. Sonu has sent some men to kill Kamal and he is on his way there. When Kayal reaches Kamal's room she finds the door locked from inside. Without knowing what to do Kayal tries to get inside through the balcony. When she was about to enter she hears a gunshot and faints in the balcony. By this time sonu's girlfriend has escaped from there. Just when Kamal is about to win the fight Sonu enters the room and threatens Kamal with a gun. Then he searches for his girlfriend he can't find her, instead he find Kayal in the balcony. Then he thinks that Rajasekar has made a mistake and apologizes to Kamal. Understanding that Kayal has saved him, he tries to get to know her better during their incidental meetings and even though Kayal tries to resist she cannot. Kamal leaves Paris for some board meetings and Kayal is heart broken. When he returns he doesn't remember her immediately even though she has been waiting for him. Kayal tries to make Kamal love her by pretending to have many boyfriends. Kamal does get a bit jealous and he decides to get a detective to know everything about her and her possible boyfriends. Initially the detective he chooses is Rajasekar Kayal's dad. Kamal doesn't know Kayal's name, but he says about all her fake boyfriends. Rajasekar realizes that the girl's boyfriends' names are same as the names of the people in his case files realizes that Kamal is actually inquiring about his daughter, Kayal as only she has seen them. He tells Kamal about it and asks him to leave his daughter as he always does when someone falls in love with him. Kamal agrees and tells Kayal that he will be leaving for Germany and that he doesn't know when he will return. Kayal is heartbroken. Kamal tries to forget her but find that he cannot as he realizes that he too loves her. So he returns to Paris and finds her. But Kayal is angry with him and walks away. Gautham Subramaniam (Jayam Ravi) a city doctor, visits his sister Sarasu (Anuradha Hasan) in a small village.
