After spending ten years in prison, Sultan Bhai (Dharmendra) once an uncrowned king of Bombay is released from the jail and starts living peaceful life in the hearts of Basti people. Damodar Kangley alias D.K. (Mohan Joshi) who was a right hand man of Sultan, is now become the terror of the town. He has taken over Sultan's place D.K. wants to get the same Basti vacated where Sultan lives. Thus a big tussel starts between them.In the meantime Rajeshwar Singh (Mukesh Khanna) an old friend of Sultan is transferred to Bombay as an A.C.P. (A.T.S.) to control the fast increasing criminal activities in the city. Rajeshwar's brother Jai (Hitesh) is doing his police training in Nasik Police Academy. His beloved Anjali (Rubaina Khan) is daughter of D.C.P. Shrikant. To remove Sultan form his way, D.K. entangles him in a murder case. Sultan is arrested. Rajeswhar Singh arrests Munna, younger brother of D.K. on doubt and encounters him. D.K. goes mad. In retaliation he kills Rajeshwar's wife and daughter and shoots at his leg to make him handicapped. Jai, for whom the world became meaningless, sets foot in Bombay. He joins D.K.'s gang hiding his real identity, in order to take revenge of this Bhabi and niece. It is a vision of a person who could reverse the process of attrition in the textile industry, if only till the textile mill was set on fire for insurance. It is a great movie to watch, if you are looking out for the social context. Dialogues are predictable, mostly studio shot, editing is a bit loose but overall, a slightly differently managed film than the usual movies of the time. 1980's. Tara Sen lives with her parents, a younger brother and a sister. Her elder brother, however, lives in Calcutta. Tara is close to Ghanshyam who she affectionately calls Ghana. One day her elder brother comes to visit and brings a friend Bijesh along who takes a liking to Tara. However, Bijesh's behavior with Tara goes out of hands embarrassing the whole family. He s asked to leave but the news spread like wildfire creating issues for the family. When the rumor gets out of hand, a fight breaks out wherein Ghanshyam gets involved and one person is killed. Next Arun Choudury (Rajesh Khanna), a writer and poet enters as a patient, suffering acute mania after being rejected by his lover, Sulekha. After refusing to take his care, Radha relents and starts nursing him. In between while caring for Arun she reminisces her past and tells a story of how she took care of injured brave army soldiers when she was posted in Laddakh during the Sino-Indian war of 1962.Gradually Arun gets cured by the love of Nurse Radha, who yet again falls hopelessly in love with her patient. Unable to hide from the truth yet unable to face it, Radha herself goes insane and is admitted to the same clinic.
