"Pakalpooram movie tells about the story of Gouridasan (Mukesh) who is Brahmadathan's (Riza Bava) son faces a toughest challenge of his life time to tie her down. He actually belongs to the Suryamangalam Mana, but right from the childhood he has been living in pain and penury, because of the nefarious designs of his father's younger brother (Babu Namboothiri) Gouridasan rises to the occasion and tries to explore the opportunities to wrest control over the ancestral home. Meanwhile, the ghost incarnates as Seemanthini (Geethu Mohandas) and she tries to win the heart of Gouridasan. Sachin Madhavan (Fahadh Faasil) comes to a hill station where he meets a girl Sushma (Nikitha) and it is love at first sight. Later he comes to know that she stays with her aunt and comes from a broken family. Her father (Siddique) and mother (Revathy) are said to be separated and living abroad. They want to legally get divorced after their only daughter gets married. Sachin loves her deeply but never reveals his feeling, as he comes to know that her parents have fixed her marriage. Both become great friends and they share a very special relationship till Sushmas mother arrives from Kuwait for her engagement. Sushma, however, agrees for the marriage provided her father to comes for the function. But her overprotective mother assumes that she is in love with Sachin and provokes her to tell a lie that she loves Sachin. She convinces Sachin also to tell the same lie and help her unite her parents. They run away with the help of Sachin's friends and stay somewhere away from home. Slowly Sushma too starts falling in love with Sachin. One day, an advocate Gopi (Mammootty) comes to see them and agrees to help them. He tells Sachin the truth that Sushmas father is dying of some bone marrow disease and his last wish is to see his daughter married to the guy whom he has selected. So he hands over Sushma to her mother. The story is told in a flashback when Sachin is on his way to attend his lovers marriage as he tells his past to the co-passengers on a ferryboat who gets hooked on to his love story. The film is about Thomas Kora(Innocent)aged 80, who is the head of a famous family of the middle Travancore region. Residing in the estate bungalow at Peermade, he never looks more than sixty. Once the favorite henchman of Henry Sayip, Kora was presented this bungalow and estate when Henry went back to England. Thereafter people started calling him, Kora Sahib. Kora has five sons and two daughters. His youngest son Joji(Saiju Kurup), was born on the fifty-sixth birthday of Kora. Since Joji was born after the golden jubilee year of Kora, he was popularly called by the neighbors as Jubilee. An automobile engineer by profession, he was also a specialist in motorcycle races, but an immature adult who can't keep serious relationships, taking life as it comes. Moreover, he was already on his way to some kind of trouble, all the time. Kora had a special liking to his youngest son, who at a point of time falls into clearly planned allegation of a murder. As police trace Joji, Kora has nothing else to do but to offer him all protection and to save him from the associated scandal.
