Dr. Krishna (S. V. Ranga Rao) is a noble person who is enriched with human values & norms and dedicated his life to his hospital. Krishna is making research on inventing an anti-polio medicine. Dr. Vijay (N. T. Rama Rao) the grandson of Zamindar Padmasri Sivaramakrishna Prasad (Relangi) is a medical graduate, he still enjoys the life in the frolic. Vijay & Parvati (Jamuna), only daughter of Dr. Krishna always get into petty quarrels. Once, Dr. Krishna visits a seaside resort for rest when he gets a severe breathing attack. At the same time, Vijay also meets with an accident and the oxygen cylinder which was brought for Dr. Krishna is utilized for Vijay. By which, Dr. Krishna dies and his hospital & patients become an orphan. After coming to consciousness, everybody starts blaming Vijay and Parvati sees him as a demon. Desperate Vijay feels that he is responsible for Dr. Krishna s death. On the advice of a nurse Sarada (Surabhi Balasaraswathi), Vijay decides to replace Dr. Krishna position by walking in his footsteps and joins as a doctor in his hospital. In the beginning, no one likes him but he endures all the insults and makes himself recognized as a good doctor. But he feels something else is lacking behind to follow the ideologies of Dr.Krishna. Then Sarada informs him regarding a diary of Dr.Krishna. Vijay requests Parvati to give it, but she refuses and hands it over to the hospital. As it is in code language, nobody can understand and throws it into the dustbin. Vijay acquires it after a great deal of dedication he decodes it. Now he wants to reveal it to Parvati, but she is not ready to listen, tries to run away and meets with an accident when she loses her eyesight. At present, the blames on Vijay increases but takes up with cheer and start serving Parvati by introducing himself as Shekar. Meanwhile, Vijay successfully completes Dr. Krishna's research which Parvati does not accept, she accompanies with remaining doctors, makes a complaint to the medical board that Vijay has stolen Dr. Krishna's diary and completed the research. The inquiry is held, everybody accuses him as a criminal and he is terminated from the medical services. After that judgment, Vijay wants to speak a while, he shows all the people whom Dr. Krishna helped in his entire life without giving his identity and also reads the diary which was nothing but adage of human values which tells how much happiness an individual gets while performing work without selfishness. Here everyone understands Vijay's virtue including Parvati, she also learns that Vijay is only Shekar and says sorry to him. At last, Parvati gets back her eyesight and the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Vijay & Parvati. more»

Kamal Mehra (Sudesh Kumar) lives in the village with his mother Shanta Mehra (Lalita Pawar) and younger sister, Sharda (Rajshree). They are poor and his mother has to mortgage her house in the village in order to send Kamal to the city for further education. She expects him to pay off the mortgage once he gets a job. Kamal gets a job and returns to the village with a wife Mona (Shyama), who is considered too modern for the village. When Kamal returns to the city, he stops sending money to his family. The mother and daughter leave for the city when they are informed that Kamal is not well. They are treated badly by Mona, who with her spendthrift habits gets into arguments with Kamal. When Kamal leaves for a job outside the city, Mona has Shanta and Sharda thrown out of the house.\n\nWandering on the streets, Shanta and Sharda collide with Kumar's (Manoj Kumar) car, who takes them to his home. Kamal is an employee of Kumar, but the fact is unknown to mother and daughter. Kumar and Sharda start liking each other and he insists that they stay at his place till the mother recovers. When Kamal returns home, he is upset to see his mother and sister missing. He leaves some money he is carrying for his employer with Mona, and goes off to the village to look for them, but is unable to find them. Mona spends three-fourths of the money Kamal had left in her care, and he has to find a way to return the money. Finally, Kamal unites with his mother and sister; Mona has learned her lesson from her errant ways, and Kumar and Sharda get married.\n\nThere is a sub-plot in the form of Kamal and Mona's neighbours; one is Sunder (Mehmood) and his wife Geeta (Savitri), who is shown as the traditional wife in comparison to Mona. Another neighbour is Jackson (Johnny Walker), who has left his wife Ganga (Minu Mumtaz) in the village. Raj (Ram Charan) is a Hyderabad-based gambler living with his adopted parents who supports his means of living. Tragedy strikes the family when his adopted father (M. S. Narayana) is diagnosed with cirrhosis as a result of alcoholism. Raj needs 2 million for his father's liver transplantation, which must be done within a month. As he is on the lookout for money, he is approached by James (Ajmal Ameer), his rival in betting, with a betting challenge. James dares Raj to make Chaitra (Tamannaah), a dental student and the daughter of a dreaded and influential businessman Bellary (Mukesh Rishi) to fall in love with him. If he is able to complete the task before 31 December 2011, James will give him the money needed for his father's operation and if not, he has to give up betting forever. Desperate for the money, Raj takes up the challenge and begins wooing Chaitra. Initially, she appears to spurn his advances and sets him even tougher challenges to propose her. Raj successfully overcomes all these challenges and Chaitra soon reciprocates his advances. Bellary finds out about their relationship and sends his henchmen to kill the couple on the night of 31 December. Raj and Chaitra successfully dodge the henchmen and escape to Srisailam. Bellary, with the help of his corrupt minister-friend Baireddanna (Kota Srinivasa Rao) and the latter's Dubai-based son (Dev Gill), begins a search for them. At Srisailam, James rescues the couple from Bellary's henchmen but gets stabbed by Baireddanna's son who also kidnaps Chaitra. An injured James then reveals about Raj's past. Raj's father Suryanarayana (R. Parthiepan) was a respected man in Rayadurg and his best friend, a rich man named Ramamurthy (Nassar), was Chaitra's father. Chaitra and Raj were childhood friends. Bellary, who is Ramamurthy's brother-in-law, found out about the presence of iron ore under Ramamurthy's land and along with Baireddanna, decided to exploit the ore for their own benefit. When Suryanarayana and Ramamurthy objected, they and their families, except Raj and Chaitra, were killed by Bellary and Baireddanna. Chaitra was adopted by Bellary who planned to kill her when she becomes an adult so that he could acquire Ramamurthy's land. Chaitra, who was aware about Raj's love for making bets, told her childhood friend James to trap Raj by placing the bet (which took place earlier in the movie) so that Bellary and Baireddanna can be destroyed using him. Raj decides to avenge his father's death and kills Bellary, Baireddanna and his son at Rayadurg. He rescues Chaitra and distributes Ramamurthy's land to the villagers after marrying her. more»

Sound designer Geetali (new find Sukhada Yash) is in a live-in relationship with an aspiring filmmaker, Parth (Chinmay Mandlekar), who is frustrated because he has not been able to make much headway in his career. One day, Geetali's friend, Eric (Edward Sonnenblick), a student of anthropology, comes from abroad and expresses a desire to study spirituality. He wants to make a documentary film on the Pandharpur pilgrimage, so popular among Maharashtrians. The pilgrimage, also referred to as Waari, is a 240-km. walk from Alandi to Lord Vithal's abode on Pandharpur, and mythology has it that the journey is to be completed in 18 days. The pilgrimage also entails unfolding of one of the 18 chapters of the Dnyaneshwari each day of the journey. Parth takes up the offer to direct the film but since he is keen to make a mark in commercial cinema, he makes it clear that he would make a feature and not a documentary.Parth starts off with his skeletal crew along with lakhs of pilgrims in the Pandharpur pilgrimage. However, he often becomes irritable and also loses his temper when he feels, his crew members are not doing their best. There comes a stage when Parth decides to abandon the project because he gets a telephone call announcing that a producer was willing to sign him on as director for his (Parth's) dream project. Although he leaves the unit to return to Bombay so that he can take up the direction of his long-cherished project, he returns to his unit when he realises that abandoning the film as well as the pilgrimage would be wrong on his part. How the 18-day journey changes Parth's outlook and mellows him is revealed in the rest of the drama. more»
