Ex-underworld don Zakkir Ali Hussein (Mohanlal), after giving up violence, is settled peacefully in the suburbs of Kochi. It was under the strong influence of his foster father, Bappu Haji Mustafa (Anupam Kher), that he left Mumbai. An unsuccessful assassination attempt on Haji Mustafa in Mumbai by Raman Naik, an underworld don ignites old wounds in Zakir. He, despite repeated pleas from Haji Mustafa and Ilanthaloor Rama Varma (Babu Namboothiri), a father like figure, sets out to Mumbai along with his trusted lieutenant Hamid Plavilakandi Mather, alias Malayalees (Cochin Haneefa). With the help of his friend Arjun (Biju Menon), Zakeer kills down Raman Naik and reaches back in Kochi. On his way back, at Kochi, he meets up with Maya Mary Kurien (Aishwarya), Asst. Commissioner of Police, who slowly starts developing a crush on him. Zakir Hussein is visited by Balaraman (Shammi Thilakan), a liquor baron and ex-MP, who warns Zakkir of dire consequences if he continues to interfere in the Mumbai crime world. He also attempts to woo Zakir, but the latter refuses to bow down, sending strong warning to Balaraman and his group. Balaraman, along with Devadevan Nambiar, alias DD (Vijayaraghavan), and Arun Naik, the brother of Raman Naik in Mumbai, is planning to finish off Zakir Hussein and Haji Mustafa to regain the lost turf in Mumbai. They are supported by Lahayil Vakkachan (N. F. Varghese), the tainted state home minister. Joseph Madachery, the IG of police conducts a raid at Haji Mustafa's poor home on behalf of Vakachan, and beats up Rama Varma Thirumulpad brutally, but the sudden arrival of Zakir saves him. Joseph is severely beaten by Zakir in full public presence, which infuriates Balaraman and DD, who try to demoralize Zakir by publishing fabricated stories about his relationship with ACP Maya Kurein and inmates of Haji Mustafa's poor home. Lahayil Vakachan tries to create a truce between Zakir and Balaraman, but fails miserably. This leads to a series of problems, including the arrest of Jaganathan, a close buddy of Zakir, on false narcotic drug charges. Jaganathan is killed in police custody. Balaraman and DD kill Rama Varma Thirumulpad, which prompts Zakir to take the law in his own hands. Major Ravi Mamman (Mammootty) arrests two LTTE terrorists in Bangalore, who are on a mission to assassinate the Indian prime minister on his visit to the city. On the run, he identifies the government minister K.K.Nair (Janardanan) as the main conspirator behind the assassination plot. Nair anticipates a political coup after the death of the prime minister, through which he hopes to seize power. However, Mamman's attempts foil his ambition. Nair tries to buy out Mamman, who refuses his offers. In an attempt to save himself, Nair shoots Ravi Mamman, but the bullet accidentally hits Susan, Mamman's girlfriend, who dies on the spot. Nair fabricates a criminal case against Ravi Mamman, of killing Susan. Ravi is court-marshalled and sent to jail. Upon release, Ravi leaves to Dubai, where he emerges as a successful businessman in a short time. His business empire is spread all over the Middle-East. He is assisted by Chandran Nair (N. F. Varghese), an over-enthusiastic NRI. Ravi's sudden acquisition of power and influence makes him an enemy of many who are eagerly waiting for a chance to finish him off. Swaminathan (Nedumudi Venu), an accountant and a fatherlike figure for Ravi, is in deep financial trouble. He wins a lawsuit and gains several million Dirhams, but Victor Sebastian (Cochin Haneefa), his cunning attorney, cheats him by conspiring with Kishan Narayan Bhatta (Nirmal Pandey), an underworld don from Mumbai. Victor kills Swaminathan and his wife (Urmila Unni), after forcefully transferring properties to his name. Ammu (Anjala Zaveri), Swaminathan's daughter reaches Dubai from Bangalore for the funeral. Ravi Mamman promises her that he will recover her property. Kishan Narayan Bhatta tries many ways to resist Ravi Mamman. Lieutenant Kiran Pothan Cheriyan (Biju Menon), once a subordinate of Ravi in the Army, is in love with Alice, the sister of Ravi. Ravi Mamman, while coming to know about this relationship, decides to make Kiran a responsible guy and hands over the reins of business to him. Chandran Nair, who was holding huge power over Ravi, finds Kiran to be his enemy and joins Bhatta. In the absence of Ravi, he plots the murder of Kiran and Ammu. However they are saved by an Arab servant. Ravi Mamman realises the role of Chandran Nair behind the plot. Bhatta asks Ravi to visit him in his resort to agree a final settlement, where he discovers K.K.Nair to be the brains behind Bhatta. K.K.Nair is killed in Delhi at his guest house by Ravi, who flies back to Dubai to face Bhatta. Ravi succeeds in saving Ammu with the help of Kiran, and during the ensuing struggle, Victor and Chandran Nair are killed. On his way back again, they are blocked by Kishan Narayan Bhatta, but in the violent fight that follows, Bhatta is killed after getting his head struck by the fan of a helicopter. more»

Major Mahadevan (Mohanlal) is an officer deputed to the National Security Guards (NSG). He has been assigned to counter-terrorism duties in Kashmir and commands an elite group of NSG commandos. He calls back his buddy Havildar Jaikumar (Jiiva) from his honeymoon because he has information about major activities of the militants; he feels Jaikumar is needed for the team. The commandos raid a mosque in civilian dress and seize a big collection of arms and explosives. Later, during an operation focused on some cottages near the Dal Lake, a commando in the team is killed and an outraged Jaikumar shoots down a captured terrorist who challenges the commandos. A human rights activist (Shwetha Menon) learns about this and threatens to file a complaint with the government. She later understands the situation and the sincerity of the commandos and decides not to proceed with the complaint. Meanwhile, a group of terrorists from Afghanistan and Pakistan conspire to hit the Hazratbal Shrine with a missile; they think this will create unrest in the region and that the Indian army will be blamed. They hijack a house that offers a good vantage point on the shrine and plant the missile there. Some of them rape a girl in the house and shoot a person who protests. A military patrolling vehicle hears the gunshot; as they approach the house, they are fired upon. The patrolling team intimates the NSG, and Mahadevan and his team immediately join the battle. After a long operation, the team kills the terrorists, frees the civilian hostages and disarms the missile. But a civilian informs that the chief of the terrorists is not to be seen among the corpses, and the commandos start a combing operation in the house. They locate the terrorist and Mahadevan recognises the man as the one who killed his wife and daughter. The terrorist is killed but he manages to shoot at Mahadevan. Mahadevan is covered by Jaikumar, who gets hit by the bullet and dies. Jaikumar is awarded the Kirti Chakra posthumously. more»

Now Guna is baying for revenge as he follows Arjun to Chennai. Meledathu Raghavan Nair is the only support of a big family that includes his mother, wife Malathi, brother Vijayakumaran Nair, sister Sudha, uncle Kunjammama and his daughter Nalini. After Raghavan Nair s father s death the whole responsibility of the family came upon Raghavan Nair. His father had left with them huge amount of debts which then reached a stage of attachment from court. At that critical juncture it was Nair s uncle Kunjammama who helped them repay the debts by selling his property out of love for Nair s father and his family. Nair s brother Vijayakumaran Nair is studying for LLB. Raghavan Nair has pinged his entire hope on his brother Vijayakumaran Nair and wants to see him as a lawyer. After Vijayakumaran Nair became a lawyer he gets a marriage proposal of a senior advocate s (under whom he practises) daughter. The marriage takes place contrary to the understanding that it is Nalini (daughter of Kunjammama) who is to marry him. However, before the marriage, regarding this matter there was a small clash between him and his brother Raghavan Nair. Since Raghavan Nair felt that he was not being loyal to Kunjammama s daughter Nalini who were to marry Vijayakumaran Nair, he arranges a marriage for her before his brother s marriage. After the marriage Vijayakumaran Nair s wife Sobha tries to dominate the house in each and every matter. There occurs small clashes between her and the family members. Later a marriage proposal for the brother s only sister Sudha arrives for which the bridegroom s family demand large amount of money and gold. In order to meet this Raghavan Nair had to ask the help of his brother who in turn turns for the same to his wife Sobha. Sobha says that she will give the money on the condition that it will be returned and in the family she will be respected. One day when the family sit together for meal Raghavan Nair comes in between straight from the fields to dine with them. This irritates Sobha and she tells that it is unhygienic and she cannot stand the bad odour emanating from the mud-filled Nair. This in turn infuriates Sudha who sees her elder brother insulted. Sobha who takes Sudha s stand in the situation as threatening tries to evade from her earlier stand to give money for Nalini s marriage. However she is ready to help them if only the entire family is ready to bow before her. This Raghavan Nair sees as an insult to the entire family. He then decides to make the entire money by himself. In order to do so he pawns his share of the family wealth and finds money for the marriage. Meanwhile, another egoistic encounter of Sobha with Kunjammama forces him to leave the family. When Raghavan Nair also felt that his stay with his brother would only destroy the entire family, he also leaves the family to a new place, find some land and starts farming. After his brother left Vijayakumaran who is now alienated in the home feels estranged completely. He then meets his father in law (the advocate) who tells him that it was his mistake that he could not control his wife which led to all this. Vijayakumaran Nair then confronts his wife reasons her and slaps her. He then goes to his brother who now stays in a new place and asks him to come back. But Raghavan Nair rejects his brothers request with love and tells him that he is always with him and will come back to home whenever he feels like he should meet his brother.
