Nayan Tara is a film that spreads the noble message of eye donation. Brajanath is a retired man who lives with his widowed daughter and granddaughter Aankhi. Aankhi is a brilliant student but her world comes crashing down when she becomes blind. Eye transplantation is the only way in which she can regain her eyesight. Aankhi's loss of eyesight shatters the world of her widowed mother. Brajanath silently suffers to see them in pain. Shamik Banerjee, Aankhi's eye specialist who also loves her promises Brajanath that he'll help Aankhi regain her eyesight. Brajanath dies of heart attack. He had donated his eyes and coincidentally his eyes are grafted on Aankhi's eyes and she gets back her eyesight.

Lingam (Sakthi), the younger son of Nasser, leads life in his own way. He along with his set of friends (which includes Santhanam and 'Lollu Sabha' Jeeva) goes around town enjoying. But Lingam's father is against his ways. He often compares him with his elder brother Chandran (Adhitya Menon), who runs a software firm in Hyderabad and is caring towards the family. Lingam falls in love with Radhika (Ramya Nambeesan) and he decides to make her sister Indira (Meera Vasudevan) enter wedlock with his brother. After their marriage, Chandran takes Indira to Hyderabad. But she comes across a startling truth that Chandran is none but a dreaded don in the capital city of Andhra Pradesh and that had hid this truth to his family. The onus now falls on Lingam to set things right. He promises Indira and Radhika that he would bring his brother back to right ways. But a hindrance to his mission is Boppala Ram Babu (Ravi Kale), who has a score to settle with Chandran. Does Lingam succeeds in his mission or not forms the climax.

Anupam Chakraborty is a well educated, humble, kind hearted man who has a flair for writing. Besides being a working professional, he was known as a budding author. He lived in Kolkata with his wife Srilekha. Anupam had always been a doting son. He loved and respected his mother who lived in the village. Anupam had come to Kolkata when he was young and had established himself bit by bit. He brought his younger brothers to Kolkata and funded their education. He even went to the extent of sending his youngest brother abroad for higher studies. However things become different as his brothers grow up. His younger brother joins the Police force and marries against his family s wishes. His youngest brother fails in his exams. In the meantime, trouble starts creeping in his professional life. His corrupted boss forces him to do things against his will. Anupam finds himself caught up in the whirlpool of the world he had once made to perfection with his own hands. Bit by bit he starts losing his mind and starts behaving like a lunatic in the attempt of trying to express himself. He is beaten by his brother and sent to the rehab. Sreelekha realizes her mistake for having failed to understand her husband and goes to bring his back. But its too late. Anupam does not recognize her. He goes into a state where no one can ever bring him back.
