Kono Ek Robibar is the story of how Mr. Bhola, an ordinary man spends his Sunday. Bhola is a henpecked husband who has to tolerate his wife s short temper all the time. He can t even enjoy his Sunday peacefully as he is burdened with several household works. To escape from the reality he takes refuge in the world of dreams. His wife pressurizes to buy a computer for the kids but since he can t afford it he seeks help of fake ascetics as per his wife s suggestions. Everything he does leads him into some problem. During the decade of 1970, a company decided to recruit 100 stuffs for their vacant positions. But the number of unemployed youth was so much that almost 30000 people applied for that job. Here Mrinal Sen neatly introduced some characters who actually portrayed the scenario in which they were going through. A journalist actually recorded all reports direct from applicants when they were queued up for the collection of forms. Some of them were victimized by black marketers, some families were facing labour problem due to company lockouts. But everybody was standing for the collection of form for those vacant positions. The pressure was increased day by day, at last the management had to call the police to tackle the situation. Suddenly few posters were seen on the sides of the roads and pavements. Chupi Chupi Ashey is a murder mystery. An elderly lady is killed on a rainy night. The clues lead to a hotel run by Ms. Kanika and Mr. Prabir. They've Dr. Bajpai, Ms. Dhar, Mr. Beni, Mr. Biraswamy and Mr. Madhusudan as the boarders. Inspector Ghosal comes to investigate the case. He tells that the case is related to Chapa Khola orphanage where three siblings were tortured. No one accepts any links with the orphanage. Ms. Dhar is murdered.
