The story revolves around Manikyan (Mohanlal), Sreekrishnan(Nedumudi Venu) and Karthumbi (Shobana) and the love triangle between them. Meanwhile, Apu arrives in the US and struggles to find his way in an alien nation. In the process, he befriends Rita (Peeya Rai Chowdhary) whose parents want to get her married to Apu.
