Rajdhani Express is the story of Keshav, an errand boy for an arms trafficker. On one such errand, Keshav steals the weapons and books a ticket on the Rajdhani Express from Delhi to Mumbai in order to escape. However, his fate follows him through his escape onto the train in the form of Yadav, the DY Commissioner of ATS. While trying to apprehend Keshav, Yadav manages to extract political mileage from the situation by weaving a web, endangering not only Keshav's, but also his co-passengers' lives. However, the Commissioner has an ulterior motive to get even with his boss, the Minister of Home, whose parents also happen to be on the train. Distanced, ridiculed and humiliated, he reacts by pointing his gun at them. All hell breaks loose. Can Keshav escape this trap? If so, how?

They get caught while capturing an American Airlines aircraft landing on their camera, which they claim to have shot for a documentary that they are making. With their explanation and situation not being fruitful they are brought into the interrogation room of the International airport to be questioned by the CISF. With Looks that are totally anti-terrorist, these simple guys get into crazy trouble, as their hold up doesn't turn up the way anyone expected. After all, looks are deceptive. Everything that they say or possess or even do leads them to further obstacles. Whether it's the suspicious footage of the boys being at Rashtriya pati bhawan, or the Arabic and Pakistani Porn that they find in Rohan's bag, Whether it's the bomb like looking device in Dhruv's bag which he states to be his physics project or the fact that the 27 year old Bulai who resembles a most wanted terrorist and doesn't carry any id or even a cell phone. At the same time the Intelligence has reports that a group of terrorists are planning some sort of an attack. Do these 4 guys have any involvement with the terror group or they have different plans all-together. Are looks always deceptive? Hadbahedi, a small but beautiful town, is forward looking but honest. It competes for resources and recognition with a neighbouring corrupt town, Triphala. Hadbahedians believe that they have been totally neglected by the state and seek an identity. They are lead in this endeavor, by Arun, the local newspaper's proprietor. Things brighten when they discover that the celebrated film star Rishi Kapoor was actually born in their village 55 years back. A grand welcome follows. Chintu arrives with Devika Malhotra, his young and dynamic PR agent. He is a nuisance at Hadbahedi and treats the innocent people of Hadbahedi with contempt. Arun and Devika get along well, their romance blossoming, while ruthless Chintu is falling prey to the tempting monetary and political offer made by Triphala. The town by now has started getting the media and government's attention due to Chintu's stay in Hadbahedi. Chintu with the tempting offer from Triphala, on one side, and Arun-Devika with the townsfolk on the other are at the middle of a see-saw climax, while concurrently, Arun's past unfolds.

Kamal Mehra (Sudesh Kumar) lives in the village with his mother Shanta Mehra (Lalita Pawar) and younger sister, Sharda (Rajshree). They are poor and his mother has to mortgage her house in the village in order to send Kamal to the city for further education. She expects him to pay off the mortgage once he gets a job. Kamal gets a job and returns to the village with a wife Mona (Shyama), who is considered too modern for the village. When Kamal returns to the city, he stops sending money to his family. The mother and daughter leave for the city when they are informed that Kamal is not well. They are treated badly by Mona, who with her spendthrift habits gets into arguments with Kamal. When Kamal leaves for a job outside the city, Mona has Shanta and Sharda thrown out of the house.\n\nWandering on the streets, Shanta and Sharda collide with Kumar's (Manoj Kumar) car, who takes them to his home. Kamal is an employee of Kumar, but the fact is unknown to mother and daughter. Kumar and Sharda start liking each other and he insists that they stay at his place till the mother recovers. When Kamal returns home, he is upset to see his mother and sister missing. He leaves some money he is carrying for his employer with Mona, and goes off to the village to look for them, but is unable to find them. Mona spends three-fourths of the money Kamal had left in her care, and he has to find a way to return the money. Finally, Kamal unites with his mother and sister; Mona has learned her lesson from her errant ways, and Kumar and Sharda get married.\n\nThere is a sub-plot in the form of Kamal and Mona's neighbours; one is Sunder (Mehmood) and his wife Geeta (Savitri), who is shown as the traditional wife in comparison to Mona.
