The story starts with a college group traveling to temples in a train and finally reaches it`s climax in a railway compartment. A college student Srikanth falls in love with his collegemate Kausalya. But her personal life is ridden with problems. Kausalya has an elder sister and a younger sister. Her elder sister is on the web of a goonda (Surya) and now the goonda has set his eyes on the other two sisters as well. Geetanjali is the story of two twin sisters Geeta and Anjali (Rekha in double role). Geeta is a music teacher and Anjali is a world renowned famous dancer.
