Prem Shankar is the son of a rich businessman whose parents want him to marry in a rich family. Prem loves a gypsy girl Dulari (who was kidnapped by gypsies in her childhood) but her father orders him not to marry her. Prem, however, disagrees and leaves the house to marry Dulari. Bombay-bred Narain goes to a village, where he meets and falls in love with a village belle, Yashodhara. She also is attracted to him, and both get married. After their marriage, both go to live with Narain's parents, brother, and sister-in-law, Lalita, and her son, Sonu. Yashodhara gets close to Sonu and starts to spend all her time with him. This raises some concerns with Lalita, which results in some acrimony. Tragically, Sonu passes away, leaving Yashodra devastated and depressed. She gets pregnant and gives birth to a baby girl, but cannot get Sonu out of her mind. Her depression gives way to insanity, as she keeps on seeing Sonu in every child, and as a result she is institutionalized. Narain has taken to alcohol in a big way and drowns his sorrows and frustrations day and night in a drunken stupor. As a result, his daughter is adopted by Lalita and his brother, without knowing who her real parents are. Years pass by, her daughter, Asha, has grown up and is herself a mother of a baby boy, and settled in the U.S. Asha arrives in India for a visit and the entire family assembles to visit Yashodhara. They find her holding a piece of log, covered in a blanket, singing to it as if it where Sonu. It is here that Asha finds out who her real parents are, and it is here that she will be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice. more»

Secret agent 116 named Gopal has been assigned the case of homicide of a fellow secret agent 303 by the head of CID, who found evidence that can help identify the perpetrators. During this investigation, Gopal meets with lovely the Sunita, and both end up falling in love with each other. The traitor responsible for killing of agent 303 goes to meet 303's sister Kamla, and tells her that he is a CID inspector and investigating his brother's case, warning that her brother's killer may attempt to pretend as his colleague and friend to meet her. Gopal goes to meet Kamla and sees 303's portrait and notes down the studio photographer's name, but Kamla is convinced that Gopal is the killer of her brother. Kamla is approached by another mafia don, Damodar, for her help in eliminating 116, which she agrees to. Rest of the movie follows the his efforts to thwart a foreign conspiracy against India. more»

Murugesh (Murali) also known as Murugan, a musician, comes with his troupe in a village. The village belle Chellakili (Sivaranjani) waits for her lover Murugan who was missing while her cousin Duraipandi (G. M. Sundar), a brute, wants to marry her. Murugesh finally reveals that he is her long-lost lover Murugan and also discloses the reason behind his missing. In the past, Chellakili's father (Vijayakumar) wanted to marry his daughter with the family friend and orphan Murugan. Whereas Yasodai (C. R. Saraswathi), Chellakili's aunt, wanted to marry Chellakili with Duraipandi. She managed to beat Murugan and she expelled him from the village. Later, Murugan became a singer in a music band but he cannot forget Chellakili. Duraipandi and Yasodai are now aware of Murugan's return. They then reveal Chellakili's love affair to her father without disclosing Murugesh's real identity. Her family then meet the Sadha Swamy who causes Chellakili to forget her love. Now, Chellakili rejects Murugan's love. What transpires later forms the crux of the story. more»
