Varghese (N. Govindan Kutty) is a planter who lives with his wife Elizabeth (Savitri) and daughter Beena (Sujatha) in the tea estates owned by him. Following his son's demise, Varghese starts drinking in his depression and entices his wife into it. Elizabeth becomes an alcoholic. Varghese dies and Elizabeth appoints Baby (Salam), who is her faithful servant Antony's (Abbas) son, as the tea estates manager. Baby and Beena are classmates. Baby is corrupt by nature, but Beena, who is in love with him, is confident of changing him. Elizabeth goes from bad to worse. In a drunken stupor she even gets into a physical relationship with Baby and becomes pregnant. Beena comes to know of this. Out of shame and repentance, Elizabeth commits suicide. The story of the film revolves around a kind hearted cobbler Mohammed Kakka (T. S. Muthiah). He keeps his life savings into the pockets of his old coat to realise his dream of going on a pilgrimage to Mecca. Alikoya Haji (Thikkurissi) loves his son Ummer (Prem Nawaz) and brings him up showering all love and affection. Hajis s sister Kadeeja (Pankajavalli) and her family lives in the neighbourhood. Amina (Aranmula Ponnamma) and her children, Kunju Bibi (Ambika ) and Hassan (Nellikkodu Bhaskaran) lives in the same house. Amina s husband is a businessman in Singapore. Kadeeja s husband Avaran (Kedamangalam Sadanandan) is very considerate to his brother s wife Amina and her family. But Kadeeja keeps ill treating Amina. Ummer falls in love with Kunju Bibi, his childhood mate. Kadeeja is jealous of this affair. She tries all sorts of tricks to create trouble but fails. Alikoya Haji decides to accept Kunju Bibi as his daughter-in-law, but demands a dowry of Rs. 2,000. Amina s husband starts from Singapore with the money. Arrangements for the wedding is made but to the dismay of everyone a telegram arrives informing the death of Amina s husband during the voyage back home. Amina and her children are pushed out of the house, the marriage is postponed as Haji gives an ultimatum to organise the dowry. Mohammed Kakka gives shelter to Amina and her family. Kadeeja continues to harass them, while Ummer tries hard to help them organise the money. He even goes to the extent of stealing from his father s safe. Ummer is caught red handed and is placed under house arrest. Mohammed Kakka makes arrangements for the marriage. He offers the money he had saved and kept in the pockets of the coat. He also appeals to others in the neighbourhood to contribute for the marriage. Ummer finally marries Kunju Bibi providing a happy ending to the film. Mohmmed Kakka s noble deed glorifies him. more»

The story begins on a rainy night, when Ilangkumaran(Sasikumar) and Nallavan(Allari Naresh) escapes from a place and enters chennai with some suspense hidden behind their past. They settle at Pulikutty's (Ganja Karuppu) residence and find jobs in a petrol bunk. His honesty and kind heartedness win people. A girl named Bharathi (Swathi) comes to his life. Her initial wrong belief about Kumaran changes as soon as she knows his kind-heartedness. Soon, the love blooms between them. Ilangkumaran along with his friends start a venture which grows fast. This makes Pulikutty to give advertisement in a Magazine with their photo. Then comes a group chasing for Kumaran and his friends. Within a few minutes Soori, friend of Kumaran arrives chennai and shares some news. Kumaran's old life is shown in the second half and it is revealed that he is mentally affected because of his dad and stepmother's desire for wealth. Saravanan(Prithviraj) is an assistant director who feels he has written a script that only he, as a director, can do justice to. Kanniah (Prakashraj), who has been looking for a break as an actor for even longer than Saravanan, becomes Saravanan's roommate. When Saravanan goes to Hyderabad, Kanniah copies Saravanan's script and pitches it a producer, under the condition that he has to play the hero in the film. Impressed by the script, the producer agrees to the condition. The movie turns Kanniah, now rechristened Dilipkanth, into a star. Saravanan does not give up and creates another story. However, he finds out that he can't make his film unless Dilipkanth plays the hero. Shooting starts with Dilipkanth as hero but is halted midway owing to various tantrums thrown by the new opportunistic hero. Determined to finish the movie, Saravanan seeks the help of his crew and friends in the cinema industry. Unknown to Dilipkanth, Saravanan and crew manipulate him into situations that match the storyline of the movie they are shooting for and capture Dilipkanth's live reactions. They manage to fool Dilipkanth and finish shooting the climax of the film even as the self claimed new star makes an ass of himself. A few days later, he is invited to watch the premiere of the movie and is shocked to see the recent events of his life unfold on the silver screen. He soon realizes the effort put in by Saravanan and crew and feels humbled. He genuinely acknowledges the talent of the director and leaves the place. more»
