Bombay-bred Narain goes to a village, where he meets and falls in love with a village belle, Yashodhara. She also is attracted to him, and both get married. After their marriage, both go to live with Narain's parents, brother, and sister-in-law, Lalita, and her son, Sonu. Yashodhara gets close to Sonu and starts to spend all her time with him. This raises some concerns with Lalita, which results in some acrimony. Tragically, Sonu passes away, leaving Yashodra devastated and depressed. She gets pregnant and gives birth to a baby girl, but cannot get Sonu out of her mind. Her depression gives way to insanity, as she keeps on seeing Sonu in every child, and as a result she is institutionalized. Narain has taken to alcohol in a big way and drowns his sorrows and frustrations day and night in a drunken stupor. As a result, his daughter is adopted by Lalita and his brother, without knowing who her real parents are. Years pass by, her daughter, Asha, has grown up and is herself a mother of a baby boy, and settled in the U.S. Asha arrives in India for a visit and the entire family assembles to visit Yashodhara. They find her holding a piece of log, covered in a blanket, singing to it as if it where Sonu. It is here that Asha finds out who her real parents are, and it is here that she will be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice. more»

The film is about Thomas Kora(Innocent)aged 80, who is the head of a famous family of the middle Travancore region. Residing in the estate bungalow at Peermade, he never looks more than sixty. Once the favorite henchman of Henry Sayip, Kora was presented this bungalow and estate when Henry went back to England. Thereafter people started calling him, Kora Sahib. Kora has five sons and two daughters. His youngest son Joji(Saiju Kurup), was born on the fifty-sixth birthday of Kora. Since Joji was born after the golden jubilee year of Kora, he was popularly called by the neighbors as Jubilee. An automobile engineer by profession, he was also a specialist in motorcycle races, but an immature adult who can't keep serious relationships, taking life as it comes. Moreover, he was already on his way to some kind of trouble, all the time. Kora had a special liking to his youngest son, who at a point of time falls into clearly planned allegation of a murder. As police trace Joji, Kora has nothing else to do but to offer him all protection and to save him from the associated scandal. Deva and Shruti study in the same college and they soon fall in love. One day, Deva comes across his friend Ashok who invites him home. He then introduces Deva to his sister Indu who is hot-headed sister but has a beautiful voice. Deva is impressed and hopes she could sing for his band. He tries to befriend her but Indu misunderstands his advances for eve-teasing and gets him arrested. Deva is locked up and thrashed by the police which angers Shruti, who rushes to Indu s house and yells at her for getting Deva arrested. Ashok then reveals the reason behind Indu s behavior and narrates the hideous incident that ruined her life while she was on a trip. Deva decides to bring back happiness in Indu s life by making her favorite singer visit her. Indu s is ecstatic to meet her role model. She also apologizes to Deva and Shruti for her behavior. Soon, Deva and Shruti announce their engagement and Deva invites his friend Ranjith for the ceremony. Thrilled to introduce his to-be wife to his old friend, Deva doesn t realize that he ends up introducing Indu instead of Shruti. Ranjith is shocked. He then congratulates Deva for being such a brave man and marrying the same girl he raped. Deva is shocked as he does not recollect any such incidence. Ranjith then narrates the whole scene that makes Deva question his future commitments to Shruti. Will Deva go ahead and marry the love of his life or not, forms the ultimate crux of the story. more»
