Bhaira is a villager well known for his psychotic nature and his beautiful wife Honni. At the dusk of one evening, Honni is brutally raped and murdered. Mohan (Mammootty) is an upper primary school teacher, who lives with his wife and their six-year-old son. He is actively involved in the cultural activities in his school and in his village too.
