The story revolves around Manikyan (Mohanlal), Sreekrishnan(Nedumudi Venu) and Karthumbi (Shobana) and the love triangle between them. Dwarkanath and his wife get separated from their son, Shankar at a fun fair. Years later, while they still hope that their son would return, Sunderdas, a local gangster learns of their misery and decides to mint money out of the situation.
