Overview
Coming from a family of goldsmiths, Arul takes the blame for stealing a gold chain which his brother had stolen. He is thus considered a black sheep by his father. Kanmani, a new neighbour falls for his character. One day, when Arul's father scolds him, Kanmani stands up for him. Arul's father insults her. In a fit of rage, Arul marries Kanmani.
