Dhanraj (Pran) is a poor mill worker whose life is ruined by his boss, Hira (Ranjeet) who fires Dhanraj from his job and also is responsible for his sister's death. Mahendra Prasad lives a very wealthy lifestyle along with his daughter, Kiran, in a palatial house. He is very religious and superstitious and consults his astrologer, Pandit Din Dayal Shastri, on all major issues.
