During a walk to the park Raghuraman (Prakash Raj) meets Sudhakar (Prithviraj Sukumaran) and tells him about his close relationship with his daughter Abhi (Trisha Krishnan). The story is set in a rural area around Madurai. The village is called Parithiyur where Paruthiveeran lives with his doting uncle. He heroically saves the life of the young Muthazhagu. Muthazhagu (Priyamani) loves him more than her life; but he remains unmoved and keeps her at bay. Eventually he does decide to marry her; but the feud between the two families comes in the way. Undeterred by Paaruthiveeran's threats; her parents press ahead with the preparations for her marriage with a man of their choice. But she resists and musters courage to elope with Paruthiveeran. Three burglars get more than they bargained for when a robbery goes wrong and they must kill a couple and kidnap their infant daughter. With the cops searching desperately for the child, the criminals try to stay out of sight, until the baby gets sick. The crooks turn to the girl's nursemaid, who insists they track down the child's regular doctor, forcing the criminals to decide whether to risk capture or ignore the baby's plight. more»

Rakesh (Sunil Dutt), a successful lawyer, comes home to find his wife succumbing to a fatal illness, and she dies only a few hours later, but he is soon contacted by a woman claiming to be the same wife he just watched die.
